America the Beautiful - The much anticipated United States of America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coin™ Program is here! Start your collection off right with the very first set of the series, Hot Springs National Park, Mount Hood National Park, Grand Canyon National Park, Yellowstone National Park, and Yosemite National Park. The obverse of these 5 oz Silver bullion coins is nearly an exact replica of each quarter-dollar that has been released in the mint's America the Beautiful circulating quarters program!
This is one of the most-talked-about United States Mint Bullion products ever released. The National Park System was established through legislation spearheaded by President Theodore Roosevelt. Roosevelt also was responsible for the Antiquities Act, which enabled Roosevelt and his successors to proclaim historical sites or national landmarks. By the end of Roosevelt's term, he had proclaimed 18 national parks. This practice was continued by later presidents using the Antiquities Act until there were more than 100 national parks and monuments. Forty-nine of these remain today, while others have been retitled or reclassified. Theodore Roosevelt can now been seen as one of the four faces on Mount Rushmore because of his tireless efforts to create a a national park system that would preserve America's most valuable treasures for future generations to see and admire.
