APMEX offers coins and currency from China.

Base metal coins were used in China centuries before the Christian era. Locally struck coinages of the western type in gold, silver, copper and other metals did not appear until 1888. Despite the relatively short amount of time modern coins have been used in China, the country has issued an incredibly large range of varieties.

The striking of coins nearly ceased in the late 1930s through the 1940s due to war and a period of uncontrollable inflation. During this time, expansive amounts of paper currency were issued.
