GSA Silver Dollars
APMEX offers a superb selection of GSA Silver Dollars.

Before they were revealed to the public in 1964, bags containing millions of GSA Silver Dollar coins had been lying undiscovered in the U.S. Treasury vaults since the early 1900's. Beginning in 1972, the coins were dispersed by the General Services Administration (GSA) in a series of eight sales limited to citizens of the United States only. Two additional sales known as the “GSA Hoard Sales” followed in 1980. These sales brought much popularity to collecting Morgan Dollars, in general, and to collecting Carson City Silver Dollars specifically.

Two separate types of these silver coins were discovered. The most common type featured Morgan Dollars with the Carson City, Nevada mint mark ("CC"). The other type was decidedly scarcer and was comprised of Morgan Silver Dollars minted outside of Carson City. All of these coins were packaged in a variety of different holders - black hard plastic cases, inside boxes, complete with certificates as well as in soft pliofilm packaging.
