1929 (Federal Reserve Bank Notes)

Authorized in 1933 as emergency money, the need for Federal Reserve Bank notes had arisen because of the large-scale removal of Federal Reserve notes. The 1929 Federal Reserve Bank Notes were the first issued, and printed in denominations from $5 to $100.

Often confused with Federal Reserve notes, the key difference between the two is that Federal Reserve Bank notes were exchanged through individual banks.
