Confederate Bonds
Along with currency, in 1861 the Confederate States of America also began printing Bonds. These bonds were promises to pay, based on the full faith and credit of the Confederacy. Many of the bonds issued early in the war (pre-1864) had all or nearly all of their coupons redeemed. By 1864, the CSA was nearly out of money and had no credit available with which to back the bonds that they were issuing, but they still continued to do so.

Confederate Bonds, along with Confederate postage stamps are a great tie-in to the CSA currency!
