These are some gorgeous smaller coins. Some people are surprised at their size but if you go back and remember during these times of striking gold coins in denominations such as this 2 peso coin. It's worth was approximately $1.65-$1.175 in this period of time when gold was about $34.75oz. Let's not forget that being that gold was used in our monetary systems, a gold coin had to be very small to be used in everyday commerce. This is why we seen this generation use the small leather coin purses that they carried in their front pouch of their over-hauls. A small hole in your trousers could easily result in loosing your gold!

I really like these for several reasons. Obviously this is a numismatic in .900 gold that offers diversification from U.S. gold numismatics. Most importanly, if you like the small denomination coins for their divisiblity . . . then at .0603 Troy Oz gold content, and this price point, this may be the best bang for your buck out there. As a bonus, you get a very attractive and historcal gold piece.
