The sovereign I received had a lot of scuff marks on both sides and appeared to have too much wear to be AU. I considered returning it, but decided it was too much effort for a single coin. Hopefully, others in the batch are in better shape.

I bought one of these and was disappointed. It was sold as AU, but has lots of small scratches on both sides and more wear than I was expecting on the reverse side. I almost returned it, but decided that it would be too much trouble for a coin that might be worth $20 less due to the condition. I've been satisfied with other products I've purchased at APMEX.

The Britain gold sovereigns are probably the most recognized gold in the world, with hundreds of years of tradition. The coins are beautiful and historical, but sell for a small premium over melt. Good idea to have for travel to other countries. And APMEX prices are competitive. These coins are hard to get in Britain and other European countries! --Al
