This set includes the 2006 1 oz uncirculated Gold Eagle, the 2006-W Reverse Proof 1 oz Gold Eagle and the 2006-W Proof 1 oz Gold Eagle. Reverse proofs are struck the same way as a normal proof coin, except the raised devices are mirrorlike and the fields of the coin are frosty. Regular proofs are made with fields that are mirrorlike, and the raised portions of the coin are frosty, which is why it is called a reverse proof. Special burnished coins were struck on special burnished blanks and were treated with a slight sanding or polishing effect to give them a distinct look that is different from regular business strike coins.
