The 2008 Proof Silver Blue Ringed Octopus features the deadly and dangerous Blue Ringed Octopus displaying its vivid blue markings. The Raphael Maklouf effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination are shown on the obverse.
Each coin is housed in a high-gloss timber presentation case and illustrated outer box appropriately emblazoned with the word ‘Danger’, also accompanied by a numbered CoA.
Armed with an immensely toxic poison, the Blue Ringed Octopus is famed for the luminous quality of its visual defense mechanism. Whenever it feels threatened, iridescent blue rings and lines quickly appear all over its body and tentacles.
