1901 Pan-American Exposition HK#289 - Fine
 
This is one of the most artistically beautiful medals ever struck. The obverse depicts an allegorical representation of a standing heroic Indian figure, while the reverse depicts the Western Hemisphere. Nice Medal issued for the 1901 Pan-American Exposition, held in Buffalo, NY, at which President William McKinley was shot and died of his wounds a week later. Struck in Brass, it measures 34mm in diameter. It is listed in the H&K reference as #289. Grades Fine.
