This was my first gold coin and it's a beauty! I like the book, COA, the box, and the coin itself. All that stuff makes for bulky packaging but the packaging is first class. The US Mint got this coin right.

This coin is an absolute one-of-a-kind: only minted for one year, and using a technique the US Mint had not used previously (triple-strike on a thick 24kt round). It is so beautiful. Since it is 24kt gold (and thus heavier than 22kt gold for the same dimensions), understand that this coin is smaller in diameter than a Buffalo, but much thicker, which is exactly what makes the high-relief so stunning. A must in any US collection, or as a unique semi-numismatic (since it was just one year).
