I have bought several of these over the course of the last few months. The reason I settled on this format was thinking about the future. If gold truly becomes an alternate currency which is used by everyday folks, I liked the sealed plastic case to help protect the gold in everyday transactions. I liked having the assay certificate plainly visible inside the case to help make the future exchange of my 1oz gold bar with an everyday person happen with more integrity and less hesitation on their part. I liked the rectangle shape for more organized storage. Note that the picture looks black, but that is the way the lighting works on the gold bar inside of the plastic case.
