From France we have these silver 5 Francs coins. This transistional issue between Louis Philippe I and Napoleon III were struck for only 3 years (1849-1852).
The silver content of this crown remains the same at .7234 of an ounce.
The head of Ceres, Roman goddess of agriculture, appears on the obverse. The date and denomination in wreath on reverse.
These coins have been circulated, and some may have been cleaned but these are interesting mid 19th century French silver coins. This design is not often available. Dates and mintmark of our choice.
