Sea Turtle in Silver!
This 2009 Turtle Silver coin is one of the most beautiful coins in the Dreaming Series. Designed by Darryl Bellotti, an Australian Indigenous artist of both Yamatji and Nyoongar descent, the coin's image is inspired by his boyhood memories of a hunting trip in northwestern Australia. The design shows a turtle surrounded by patterns of dots, symbolizing the hunters' journey, and circles, representing the places where they stopped. The Ian Rank-Broadley likeness of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination are shown on the obverse.
Each Turtle Silver coin is housed in a beautifully illustrated presentation pack. Each pack includes an explanation of the artist’s inspiration and depicts his signature. The pack also comes complete with a CoA.
