The 2011 Gold Britannia coin features a new reverse design depicting a seated version of Britannia with a billowing Union Jack cleverly superimposed in front of her. At the heart of the billowing Union Flag, Britannia appears seated with a trident and shield, in the style of the classic image on pre-decimal pennies since Charles II. The design is the work of David Mach and represents a very patriotic approach to the bullion coin's reflection of British culture.

Coins come in the original plastic from The Royal Mint. Orders of 5 coins or more come in the original five-coin sheets, while orders of 25 or more coins come sealed from the Royal Mint in 25-coin packs.
