The honor and pride of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police are honored with the 2011 Gold Mountie coin. The reverse design features a "Mountie" on his horse at full gallop. The front of the coin honors Queen Elizabeth II, while displaying the well-known Canadian Maple leaf.

Both sides are surrounded by a 12-sided, inset border. The background is meticulously struck with a mesh design to give a sense of movement to the Mountie.
