Historic British Gold Coin!
This Gold British sovereign is a one-year type that displays the bust of King Edward VII for the only time on this denomination. It is also the first 5 pound, or sovereign, coin to be struck in the 20th century. It has the classic reverse of St. George slaying the dragon. This large coin contains 1.1775 oz of gold. It has a number of contact marks, and has been cleaned, but it still has Almost Uncirculated details. This unique Gold British sovereign is not encountered very often, as more than 75% of the original mintage of 35,000 were melted! Listed in Krause as KM#807.
