This limited edition set was issued by the South African Mint in 2005 to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the discovery of the Cullinan Diamond, the largest diamond in the world at that time.

This "Treasures of Africa" set includes a 1 oz Gold proof Krugerrand. The standard reverse design by Coert Steynberg depicts a Springbok Antelope, one of the national symbols of South Africa. The obverse shows the portrait of Paul Kruger, the face of Boer resistance against the British during the Second Boer War.

This set comes complete with a miniature crown and scepter specially created in sterling silver and plated in 24-karat Gold. They both are set with a 0.05 carat TTLB diamond symbolic of the Star of Africa. The crown weighs 12 grams, and scepter 5 grams. Definitely a collector’s item; get it while it lasts!
