This Gold coin was Issued by Lesotho to celebrate the International Year of the Child. It contains 1.0003 oz of fine Gold. This small kingdom (about the size of Maryland) is entirely surrounded by the Republic of South Africa. A likeness of Moshoeshoe II, the first king of Lesotho, is on the obverse. The faces of three children are depicted on the reverse. Only 2,000 proofs were struck, making this coin an uncommon find. Listed in Krause as KM#26.
