This Proof Silver coin, which contains .900 Silver, is part of the “From Clovis to the Republic – 1,500 Years of French History” series. This series will contain 15 coins over 5 years and highlights French heritage by honoring ten kings, two emperors and three presidents who helped shape the French nation. This inaugural issue feature Clovis I (466-511), the first king of the Franks to unite all the Frankish tribes under one ruler, and converted the nation to Catholicism. The obverse features an image of Clovis with his Merovingian crown and his name as a semi-circular inscription, designed by Christian Lacroix. The reverse shows the baptism font at Reims cathedral, where Clovis was baptized, a dove, and the span of his reign. Each of these beautiful Silver coins comes in a box and with a certificate of authenticity.
