This is the second year of the series which pays tribute to characters of French literature. This year the adventurers are in the spotlight. The first coin this year depicts Cyrano de Bergerac.
The story of Cyrano is loosely based on the real-life Savinien Cyrano de Bergerac who became famous for his panache and the length of his nose.
The obverse of this Gold coin has a profile of Cyrano, and in the background Roxane, whom Cyrano secretly loves, appears on her balcony. The reverse has a portrait of Edmond Rostand, dramatist of Cyrano de Bergerac. Included is the quote from the play:
"A la fin de l´envoi, je le touche".
Each of these beautiful Gold coins comes in a box and with a certificate of authenticity.
