This .999 fine Silver partially colored rectangular coin depicts Saint Aleksandr. Saint Aleksandr (Alexander Nevsky) was the Prince of Novgorod and Grand Prince of Vladimir during some of the most trying times in the city's history.

He was glorified (canonized) by the Russian Orthodox Church in 1547. His principal feast day is Nov. 23. In December 2008, he was voted the greatest Russian in the Name of Russia television poll.
