This is only the second year that Hercules has been featured on the French Precious Metal circulating coins. Augustin Dupré created this design in 1795. He also engraved the U.S. Libertas Americana Medal.

The coin contains 1.44 ounces of Silver. This 100 euro coin features a stylized Hercules joining Liberty and Equality, surrounded by France's motto: LIBERTY, EQUALITY, and FRATERNITY. The reverse features the denomination with bay and oak branches placed to mimic the euro symbol.
