This one year type coin has a low mintage of 89,000!
In 1943, the Mexican Mint struck the 50 pesos with the wording 37.5 Gr. Oro Puro to the left and the right of Winged Victory. The government at the time felt that since the coin contained far more than 50 pesos in gold that there was no reason to have 50 pesos on the coin. The public outcry was such that 50 pesos was added back to the coin the following year. An interesting one year type with a great story. This impressively large gold coin has a fineness of .900, and a gold content of 1.2057 ounces.
Very few examples of this date grade this high, and NGC has certified this one as Mint State 64! Cataloged as KM#482.
