Certified Roman Denarius! This silver Denarius was struck sometime during the reign of the emperor Commodus (177 - 192AD).
Obverse: Bust right. L AEL AVREL COMM AVG P FEL

Reverses can vary. These are well preserved examples graded Choice Extra Fine by NGC. Commodus was the son of the Emperor Marcus Aurelius. Commodus became insane and believed he was the reincarnation of Hercules. He was assassinated in 192 AD.
