I received the 40 I ordered. Some of these bars seem really old and others looked like they were brand new. None of the bars received were sealed in plastic but no big deal. APMEX is a pleasure to deal with and will be buying more soon. Thanks for the accurate product description.

Got 4 of these Engelhard silver 1oz. bars on a special a week ago. Like Jeffrey mentioned below, they seem like older bars, since one of the bars is a bit tarnished, showing major signs of wear, and another (which is somewhat interesting) has some toning in the upper-left corner of the rear part of the bar. Some scratching too on those two bars as well, but other two are in very good condition. The bars were probably never vacuum-sealed, but that is fine. Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase, bars are a very nice design (typical Engelhard quality). Very glad I made this purchase last week during a gold/silver dip. Price has been going up, Up, and UP since then! Thanks APMEX!

Ordered 2 bars, got 2 different style logos which i liked. Bars are old so expect signs of wear, mine have some scuffs and 1 has some light discoloration. These bars are numbered which is great for record-keeping and with Engelhard you know you are getting a good quality product. This was my first purchase with APMEX and i would recommend both this product and company to any investor.

Bar came in scuffed and scratched on the whole thing. They should warn you that it is scratched up and not in 100% perfect condition.

These Bars were made in the 80's so you should expect the condition to be average. 1 ounce of silver is 1 ounce of silver. Its sad that in todays society we have whinny Americans that complain about everything even if its 20+ years old. If you dont like the way the product looks put some elbow grease into it and shine it up to what you like and stop complaining. This is a quality company that sells quality goods.

You people that are knocking the condition of these bars... Do you realize Engelhard hasn't produced these bars since the mid 80's? I don't think Apmex has these laying around new. They are obviously buying them from individuals. If your investing then an ounce is an ounce. If your collecting you should be buying the new bars being produced today. I only buy Engelhard and JM.

I agree with the last few reviews. The bars I received were worn and scratched. APMEX should at least say something in the description about the possible condition of the bars you may receive. I have placed many orders with APMEX and this is the first one that I was disappointed with.

Bought 2 of these, thank god that's it...bars were scuffed up/tarnished...cleaned them up the best i could, Definitely purchase something else if appearance is something that matters to you.
