Gold from South Africa Mint (Gold Krugerrands)
South African Mint - In 1941, what we know today as the South African Mint officially opened. Starting in 1961, South Africa introduced its own currency, replacing British currency. The South African Mint was responsible for producing this everyday coinage. However, they are perhaps more famous for minting the beautiful Gold Krugerrand coins.
In addition to Gold Krugerrands, the South African Mint has produced other beautiful Gold coins, including the newer Gold Natura series. One of the Natura series coins even won Krause Publications' 2011 Coin of the Year Award!
