Mexican Silver Libertads (Proof Versions) (NGC Certified)
The most striking feature of the coin is probably its reverse design. It depicts two key symbols reflective of Mexico's rich heritage: the Angel of Independence statue and the Mexican volcanoes Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl. Pictured in the forefront of the coin's reverse, the angel is a historic monument for the Mexican people and is a symbol of Mexico City. The volcanoes Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl in the background memorialize the Mexican legend of two lovers for whom they were named.
The obverse features the National Seal of Mexico with the official name for Mexico in Spanish: “Estados Unidos Mexicanos.” Outlining the contour of the frame is the reproduction of various coats of arms used throughout Mexico’s history.
