1963 $2 U.S. Notes
APMEX offers a fine selection of 1963 $2 Red Seal notes.
One of the most interesting types of U.S. money in circulation, Red Seal notes were backed only by the credit of the U.S. government, despite that fact that they were issued at a time when money was redeemable for gold or silver. These notes had a red treasury seal and red serial numbers. Red Seal notes were issued in $1, $2, $5 and $100 denominations.
These replacement bank notes, which were printed to replace faulty notes, contain a star (*) in the serial number to mark them as a replacement. All notes in this listing will come from series 1963, and will grade Crisp Unci.... Read More
