Vice President, Purchasing
Miguel Perez-Santalla has more than 30 years of experience in the global trading
markets in precious metals, foreign currencies, bonds and commodity futures. He
has been the Vice President of Purchasing for APMEX Inc., since January 2012 and carries
the responsibility to lead the wholesale and retail purchasing worldwide including
all the precious metals, semi-numismatic and numismatic items.
Mr. Perez-Santalla’s professional experience includes:
- Vice President Marketing of Heraeus Precious Metals Management, a 150 year old German
precious metals and technology group, where he was responsible for marketing all
services of the New York Trading Desk, lead and directed the marketing of trading
and refining services of precious metals in Latin America and maintained trading
with customers in all precious metals products.
- President of Trinity International, LLC, a precious metals and foreign currency
trader, with broad responsibility for the import and export of precious metals from
Latin America and all precious metals and currency trading.
- Vice President of Foreign Currencies and Precious Metals Trading of Manufacturers
and Traders Trust Bank, one of the 25 leading regional banks in the United States,
with responsibility for the trading operation in the Treasury Division and served
as a member of the Foreign Exchange Credit Committee responsible for approving customers
and managing risk exposure.
As a member of the International Precious Metal Institute and a member of the Silver
Users Association, Mr. Perez-Santalla participates in industry groups and is also
recognized as a speaker on precious metals trading market topics and has presented
at the IPMI World Conference in 2008, 2009 and 2010, the Silver Users Association
and The US Geological Survey. He has been quoted by Dow Jones, Thomson Reuters and
Bloomberg and has appeared as an expert in precious metals on interviews on Bloomberg
Latin America and Hard Asset Investor.
Mr. Perez-Santalla has been a contributor to The Silver Lining, a bi-monthly newsletter
to the Photovoltaic Industry and the author of Daily Morning Indications, a blog on precious metals.
