Rio Slaven has more than 17 years of integrated marketing experience. In 2011, she became Chief Marketing Officer of APMEX Inc., where she oversees APMEX’s global sales and marketing strategy, including direct sales, advertising and brand management, client acquisition and marketing, and corporate communications.

Prior to joining APMEX, Ms. Slaven was Vice President of Investor Education Marketing for TD Ameritrade, one of the nation’s largest brokerage firms and the leader in online securities trading. Under her leadership, the education marketing organization exceeded all sales and revenue goals for 2010 across all key metrics including net new assets, trade lift, account acquisition, and client engagement. Previously, as VP of Client Communications, Ms. Slaven led a top-performing team of marketing managers and technical writers in developing a client communications strategy for the retail and institutional brokerage divisions.

A seasoned marketing executive, Ms. Slaven’s expertise spans a wide range of marketing disciplines, including:

  • Award-winning advertising programs
  • Online marketing strategies and website development
  • Product positioning
  • Media targeting programs
  • Client segmentation programs

Ms. Slaven was also Director of Brokerage Communications for E*TRADE Financial, VP of Client Benefits Marketing for Morgan Stanley, Account Director for both BBDO New York and SF Interactive, Inc., and Account Executive for Digitas.
