Three decoration techniques: micro-printing, laser techniques and digital printing were used in the production of this coin.

The last recorded live female died in 1627 from natural causes in the Jaktorów Forest, Poland. Although the aurochs were not saved from extinction, conscious attempts to save the species in Poland were pioneering at the world scale. Since 2006, Polish scientists have tried to restore the aurochs population on the basis of DNA found in bones still kept in museums.
