The fifth coin from the series "S.O.S. To The World They are Gone!" is devoted to the Pinta Island Tortoise. This series was created to show how significantly our day-to-day decisions can influence the natural environment. Three decoration techniques: micro-printing, laser techniques and digital printing were used in the production of this coin.

Pinta was the original home to Lonesome George, the most famous tortoise in the Galápagos Islands. He was the last known representative of the subspecies Chelonoidis nigra abingdonii which died out in 2012.
