Nice coins--good investment

Pros

  • Always Liked The Design
  • Value (low premium over spot)

Bought these dimes as a good hedge against inflation. Low denomination would make it easy to trade for goods or services in case of emergencies. The design is classic esp compared to the Roosevelt dime.

Winged Liberty Head dimes as advertised.

Product was as advertised. The bag contained 1002 silver dimes, most of them Mercuries with maybe a bakers dozen of Roosevelt. All kinds of years and mint marks, with a couple of 1916s, one of them in fairly good shape. A very fun way to buy silver.

Relatively happy with this bag

Just finished going through the bag and here is what i got. Date breakdown was 75% from the 1940's, 13% from the '30's,8% from the '20's, 4% from the '10's. There were also about a dozen Roosevelt dimes. Condition wise better than average circ in the later years but in the early years hard to determine mint marks ,if any at all. Bottom line is buy this for the silver content and you will be happy.

This $100 face bag of Mercury dimes was about 95% as advertised. Got the bag 42 hours after I placed online order. I did a count (highly recommended) and found 998 dimes, and there was one '64 Roosevelt in the mix. Called APMEX and they had 3 Mercs out to me in another couple days, so very happy with that. I have been through the whole mix. A wide range of dates, I was able to fill 62 holes in a 77 hole Dansco album from scratch out of this bag. There were: zero holed coins, a few totally black coins, about a dozen slightly bent coins, maybe 3 dozen that were so worn it was impossible to ascertain whether there was a mint mark or not, less than 5 where the date was impossible to determine. The lightest coin I found weighed in at 2.251 grams out of a new coin weight of 2.500 grams. Coins ranged all the way from About Good to several AU, and a lot of XF. Most were in the Good to VF category. Only real negative is that the coins were filthy, counting out one roll's worth made my fingers black. I wound up washing all coins in dish soap and distilled water, every time the wash water was moderately dark. If you plan to keep your coins in the bag (which was also dirty inside it), this is not an issue, but if you like handling them, just be aware of this dirt issue. All in all I was very happy with this purchase.

Pros

  • Collectible (lower mintage)
  • Value (low premium over spot)

Great way to invest in fractional silver bullion as well as building and adding to a Mercury dime collection. I found several pieces I didn't already own, a few lower mintage pieces and a few exceptional grade pieces mixed in the bag. I am very pleased.

Nice Lot of Dimes

Pros

  • Attractive Design
  • Easy to Sell

Cons

  • Common (higher mintage)

Great lot of dimes with a nice mix of date. I have purchased a number of bags from APMEX and have been pleased with the quality. I wouldn't expect to find any rare dates but I have found each bag to represent a good range of dates and mint marks.

I have always liked the winged Liberty dime, and being close to retirement I thought having some "small silver change" would be a good hedge against inflation. I purchased two bags, the first of which was mostly 1940's, but the second bag was 50/50 1940's coins, and earlier dates. A few slicks, but silver is silver. Going through 2000 dimes was a nice way to spend an afternoon.
