The quality of the strike on these coins is a testimony to the leading edge minting technology developed by the Royal Canadian Mint. There is a distinct mix of mirror-like and frosty finishes within each coin, and the highest-available 0.9999% purity showcases the quality. Although the queen's portrait has not aged well it is completely acceptable to only view the Maple Leaf side of the coin (as is my preference). For those who live near the northern border of the USA, owning ML bullion could prove to be advantage in a barter situation with our northern neighbors. I recommend going halfs on your silver bullion investments -- SAEs and MLs.

While I know these coins are sold as bullion and not as numismatic grade coins, every previous BU coin I have bought from APMEX has been of better than good grade. This specific Maple Leaf had a deep triple gouge in it and I was a bit disappointed in it's condition.

Though this said random year, I received all 2012 coins in virtually mint condition securely packaged in a container. This was my first purchase of Maples and I thought it was interesting that Canada uses a 5 CAD denomination on their coins. I may get some more Maples to add to my collection, though I will have to say that the Britannia's I also received were incredibly lustrous and had a lower denomination (2 quid). Great value against silver prices and will hold their value over time.

Had many problems shipping and it is making me think twice about paying ten bucks for it. It said I received quick ship and that it would ship the next day, but it shipped three days later. -_-
