Among other items, I ordered a random year Libertad because it was a dollar cheaper than a 2014. I received an '85 which was a pleasant surprise, because all the Libertads I own are more current coins which have have a different design and are thinner. I like both the new and old, so I will opt for the random year if it continues to be cheaper than selecting a particular year. It's a cool looking coin and has a better design on the back than the newer ones, in my opinion.

I bought this coin thinking that I would get the older silver libertad design since that's the only picture in the listing. However, I recieved one from 2011 with the new design. To be clear, the listing does say that the coin will be from dates 1982-2013, and it's completely my fault for not reading all of the info, but I just think that the picture is deceptive.

Comments about 1 oz Silver Mexican Libertad (Random Year):

I had some reservations about buying random year libertads knowing that I will be getting secondary market coins that are not in the greatest shape. Much to my surprise the circulation look gives these coins great appeal. I will be shopping for more of these.

Comments about 1 oz Silver Mexican Libertad (Random Year):

I bought this to diversify my stack, and quite frankly wasn't too impressed with the condition or quality. However, i knew this possibility beforehand, and went for it anyways. I received a 1985, with the edges nicked up a little bit, slightly tarnished. i weighed it multiple times and got a weight of just under 31 grams, which i assumed is from the abuse it received over the last 30 years. I don't blame APMEX for this, as i'm sure they bought it from someone awhile back who didn't take care of it. Aside from it's condition, the quality seems poor in comparison to an ASE or Mapleleaf, the front even looks as if it's conclave slightly. If i were to order another one, i'll go with a brand new one. in the end, this will just be a part of the collection.

Received many older Type 1 Libertads. Great .999 silver coin. Much more rare than American Eagles. Libertads mintages average less than one million per year. Items better than expected.

Received a BU 1985 coin. This design was a bit smaller in diameter than the current one, and thicker as well. For being almost 30 years old, it was absolutely stunning.

                    Service and delivery comments:

Package was received a day earlier than projected, and coins were well protected.
