2nd purchase, "General Silver"

By  LunaticWolfe

5.0

I've found that both of my smaller purchases of 5 & 6 oz orders were unexpectedly rewarding. You may not always get what you want but you'll always get what you paid for. Sometimes even coming out a little on top with some nice pieces worth more than their weight. I will definitely be increasing my orders of "Generic Silver" for now on.

Pros

  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Attractive Design
  • Easy to Sell
  • Recognized Brand

Cons

  • Common (higher mintage)
  • Generic Brand

I was hoping for variety having orders 30 ounces, but got 30 blank APMEX rounds. They were all in great shape and packed in tubes so that was great! actually thinking about striking to blank side or using them to practice scrolling on.

Pros

  • Value (low premium over spot)

Good Assortment

I got my first 5 - ounce order of these. After requesting APMEX to send me some odd-ball items, they came through in a big way. I did receive 1 blank blah APMEX Round, but I also got random 4 bars (1 poured, 3 stamped) I bar was underweight, stamped as "20 grams" (there are about 28 grams in an Ounce), but the other 3 bars were slightly above weight, so all in all it evened out.

Pros

  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Attractive Design
  • Easy to Sell

Cool. Will buy again

Random purchase for my daughter. I got a silver bar 1 oz with Santa Clause on it. A little tarnished but nothing some silver cleaner can't fix. Will buy again.

Pros

  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Collectible (lower mintage)

Slightly Disappointed

By  Amanda N.

I ordered a handful of these to grow my silver collection. I was really dissapointed with some of the ones I received. I got 4 of them that had tacky stickers on them. Two for Valentines Day, one for St. Patricks Day and one for Easter. I guess at the end of the day it doesn't really matter as long as the silver count is there, but of the 5 I ordered I'd only show 1 to my friends.

Pros

  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Recognized Brand

Cons

  • Unattractive Design
  • Hard to Sell

Supremely Disappointed!

After reading the other comments I decided to get 15oz of this, since everyone else ordering just a few ounces seemed to get a nice variety of random things. I got 15 blank 1oz APMEX rounds :/ Hands down the most boring addition to my collection. No variety, nothing nice to look at, why would anyone want blank rounds?

Pros

  • Value (low premium over spot)

Cons

  • Unattractive Design
  • Hard to Sell

Overpriced For Tarnished Silver You Could Buy New For Less

By  John

from Midwest

1.0

I received three tarnished silver coins that I could've bought brand new for a cheaper price. This is a bad deal because you could get a badly conditioned Sunshine Minting coin for a dollar more than what you could buy a new one for. I don't mind tarnished on a coin from the 80s, 70s, 60s or later.

Cons

  • Poor Condition

Why does the price of Silver change throughout the day?

When buying Silver rounds and bars, you will notice the spot price changing throughout the day. The Silver spot price fluctuates throughout the day and night because Silver is traded 24 hours per day, seven days per week, all around the globe. The Silver price per ounce is influenced by Silver bullion price markets from Chicago to Zurich to Hong Kong. However, in the U.S., the current Silver price per ounce is generally based on numbers from the COMEX (Commodities Exchange) in New York City. To buy Silver bars and rounds when the Silver spot price dips, set up a free APMEX Market Alert to send you an email or text, and then you won’t have to wait at your computer to catch the fluctuations.
