Dates on these random year coins will be of our choosing and may or may not vary, determined by stock on hand.

The Morgan Dollar holds a special place in U.S. coinage as it was the first coin to feature Lady Liberty with an American look, rather than the traditional Greek style. Her cap is adorned with wheat and cotton as a tribute to America's agricultural history.

The image of the eagle was also updated for the Morgan Dollar, showing a proportionally correct eagle with beautifully designed feathers. He carries an olive branch, showing America's desire for peace, and is perched atop a bundle of arrows, signifying America's readiness to defend her borders against attack.

The Morgan Dollar flooded the markets from 1878-1904. Nearly two decades after production halted, the Morgan Dollar was seen again for one year only, in 1921, due to a renewed desire for this iconic, beautiful design.

i will be buying more

i have been buying these and will be buying more. I am not an expert coin collector - it is really comforting that APMEX delivers what the advertise - makes for an easy purchase. These silver dollars are a great bullion and collectable coin. I believe based on the economic climate that a volume of choice -affordable coins - from a mercenary strategy is better than 'survival" coins - and not over the top with extremely rare coins. You hold in your hand a beautiful piece of history - you have the potential when silver skyrockets to cash in on the bullion aspect - the affordable collector aspect - or simply self satisfaction as a collector.

Pros

  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Attractive Design
  • Easy to Sell

Received two nice New Orleans coins...

I hit 60 last Sunday, wanted a couple of BU Morgans. Went for the "random", but requested mint marks, either "O" or "S" examples. Received two MS61 or better coins. These are not my stackers, these are for the collection. Really nice, few bag marks, might even rank higher if viewed by a pro. Good job, APMEX.

Pros

  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Attractive Design
  • Easy to Sell
  • Recognized Brand
  • Mint Condition

Decent Coin

By  Deano

It's kind of fun to order these coins & wait to see what you'll receive. When it comes to higher mintage coins, the smart, logical thing to do is go for Brilliant Uncirculated. That being said, the 1884 O that I received was not quite up to the BU standard. A little disappointed. I am happy that they accommodated my request for a certain year of coin, however. I've got almost every year covered, with some multiple coins for certain given years, so I'm trying to get every year covered, funds & time permitting. I now do all of my coin/precious metal purchases through APMEX. The best, as far as I can tell.

Pros

  • Recognized Brand
  • Attractive Design
