The Peace Dollar is highly sought after by collectors, as it experienced one of the briefest minting periods of any U.S. currency and also was the last Silver Dollar to be minted. This popular design was minted from 1921 to 1928, then again in 1934 and 1935, due to changes in legislation.

Anthony di Francisci's Peace Dollar was the result of a contest looking for a new dollar design. His unique rendition of Lady Liberty was based on the actual Statue of Liberty, resulting in a patriotic and familiar look. The eagle on the reverse clutches an olive branch in its talons, symbolizing peace and commemorating the peace seen after WWI.

These coins are exactly as i expected. I Purchased 3 hoping to get some different years but random does mean random. I received 3 1922 Peace dollars in great condition. I believe two would grade MS-62-MS-63 easily with the other being on the border between AU-59 and MS-60 based on PCGS Photograde. Overall great purchase and great value, i will definitely shop with APMEX again

Pros

  • Attractive Design
  • Mint Condition

So far these have been fine

I've ordered several of these, and all but one have been p-mint coins dated 1922. The outlier was a 1923-p. Only one coin was graded dubiously --- plenty of luster but either a hint of wear or a very soft strike on the obverse. All the others have beensolid BU coins, and the one I had graded at NGC was MS-63.

Pros

  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Easy to Sell
  • Mint Condition

Great Coin and end of era

By  John

from Wellsville, NY

5.0

I have purchased a few of these and by luck of the draw all have been 1923, but all have been BU condition. These are excellent dollars and unfortunately the end of an era. They are awesome in the way they sound, feel, look, shine, etc. Something today's coin dollars are lacking in my opinion. Will keep buying more as these are great price and quality.

Pros

  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Attractive Design
  • Collectible (lower mintage)
  • Easy to Sell
  • Mint Condition
  • Recognized Brand

Possibly America's Most Beautiful Coin

By  Neil M.

Simply put, this coin is an art deco masterpiece. Stylistically it's a tour de force, and the engraving has a certain "softness" that makes this coin glow in a way my other coins can't match. The BU condition of this almost 100-yr old coin is superb.

Pros

  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Attractive Design
  • Collectible (lower mintage)
  • Easy to Sell

LOL! = Lots of Luster!

By  Mitchell V.

from Orange County, CA

5.0

I received mine in a nice tight sleeve, and with ALOT of luster on the coin. It had the typical BU bagmarks, but that isn't as important since many coins have that regardless of the year it was produced. I am really happy with this purchase, I just wanted to finish my American Silver Dollar set and this one did the trick. APMEX has the best packaging among any other precious metal dealers hands down.

Pros

  • Easy to Sell

Cons

  • Common (higher mintage)
