Can NEVER go wrong with gold. Silver, as well. Copper will be the next one. I had purchased a 20 Franc 1/4 oz Gold "Lucky Angel" back in the late 90's for peanuts, now it's worth anywhere between $200- $500. I like that I had the option to purchase this 1/2 OZ Gold Coin. I almost sprung for the full OZ, but didn't. I was "Pushing It" even getting this, but it's not really wasting money, when you think about it. It's a better gamble than the Stock Market, & whenever I have extra cash, I'm going to load up on gold/silver/ & yes, even .999 COPPER. Apmex should start selling pure copper, because I think this is going to be the sleeper of metals. Load up now, while the prices are cheap. Bottom line, I am very pleased with this gold coin & the silver I purchased from APMEX. Going to be tough to sell & I hope I'm not forced to! Shipping was EXCELLENT as well.

And I'm glad that I did. I set a goal to acquire 10oz of each denomination of gold bullion eagles. That means 20 of these beautiful coins. These coins are of the random date BU class, but they appeared to be mint condition. I couldn't find a single scratch, and now that they are protected in air-tites, they will never scratch up.
