This is one of the very popular "Black Eagle" notes. These series 1899 $1 Silver Certificates get their name from the prominent Black Eagle with its wings spread over the small portraits of Abraham Lincoln & U.S. Grant.
- This issue of Silver Certificate was printed sometime between May of 1921 and January of 1922.
- Face: Large eagle with its wings spread perched above small portraits of President Lincoln and President Grant.
- Back: Obligation language at center with the denomination surrounding among stylized scrollwork.
- This note is in Fine condition.
The Speelman/White signature combo indicates this note was the last of this type printed; before the introduction of the more modern looking series 1923 notes were introduced.
