These $1 Indian Head Gold coins, designed by James B. Longacre, contain .048375 oz. of Gold and were minted from 1856-1889. They are also authenticated and graded as being in MS-62 condition. Due to the Act of September 26, 1890, these $1 gold coins were no longer produced by the U.S. mint and is one of the last pieces of gold currency in this size to be offered as legal tender currency.
