Pre-1965 90% Silver coins, sometimes referred to as junk Silver or scrap Silver, are a great way to start your Silver investments. These Silver coins were pulled from circulation with the introduction of copper/nickel clad coins and the rising demand of Silver. The public saved them for their 90% Silver content as a rainy day fund they can fall back on.

BU Franklin Halves as Described

By  Mammoth

These uncirculated Franklin Halves were indeed brilliant and have a beautiful appearance. Even if you already have a stack of circulated Franklin Halves, some BU Franklins will make a nice addition. Although I specifically requested a mix of dates, I was disappointed to find that all but three of these were dated 1963.

Pros

  • Recognized Brand
  • Mint Condition
  • Easy to Sell
  • Attractive Design

Cons

  • Common (higher mintage)

Very nice overall

Like the BU quarters, I didn't know what to expect. With these halves having a low premium I almost didn't think it would be worth the money. Once again, I was wrong (for the most part). First, the negative. There were 3 halves (see picture)that had NO business being in a BU roll. They were coated in grime, and were a mess. But, the rest of the roll made up for it. No half was an absolute gem. All had bag marks, but there 7 that had almost full bell lines. Franklins are very prone to damage because of the tiny, intricate details. Anyways, there was a decent variety. Most were 1960-1963, but I got a couple 57 Ds, one 58D and one 54. One thing I can say to anybody interested in any of Apmex's BU products- you never know what you're going to get. Some rolls may blow you away, and some may leave you wondering why you spent the money. Most of my experiences have been good though. I am satisfied.

Pros

  • Attractive Design
  • Value (low premium over spot)

Beautiful Ben's

I'm glad I didn't follow Glenn B's 2011 recommendation to sell stocks and buy gold because as an investment bullion hasn't been so good. Nevertheless, I do buy bullion but view it as insurance against the unlikely collapse of our currency. And, with the nice run up in stocks over the past 6 years, I have some spare change to send to Apmex for some more goodies like these BU Ben's. Can't see the inside ones, of course, but would fully expect then to be the same as the end pieces. Beautifully packaged, as always.

Pros

  • Attractive Design
  • Recognized Brand

Very nice coins

The Benjamin Franklin half-dollar coins came nicely packed and in much better condition than I had expected. All the coins are 1963 minted and in very good condition. They will make nice gifts to relatives or as an investment. Looking forward to the Silver dollar Peace coins I just purchased. I applaud Apmex for delivering such high quality products, even though it would have been nice to receive different dates on some of the coins, but, as in life, you can't always get what you want. Great service and packaging by Apmex.

Pros

  • Collectible (lower mintage)
