The U.S. Trade dollar was created for use in the Orient. This coin would make a nice addition to a Silver Dollar Type Set.
Designed by William Barber and containing .7874 oz of silver, this Trade Dollar shows Uncirculated details, but has been cleaned. In the five-year run that Trade Dollars were minted, less than 36 million pieces were struck. In 1873, only 396,635 Trade Dollars were minted, making them tough to find.
