Louis Armstrong was an American musician known for both his singing and trumpet playing. His most famous and recognizable songs include "A Kiss To Build A Dream On," "Hello Dolly," and most famously "What A Wonderful World." He lived from 1901 - 1971 and died in New York City. This Gold Commemorative Arts Medal honors his contributions to American society. It is the third of 5 1 oz gold Arts Medals to be released by the U.S. Mint between 1980 and 1984.
