This silver coin was issued by Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) to celebrate the 2,500th year of Bhuddism. ASW= .8409 of an ounce. Nature is alive and apparant on this coin. The obverse is full of flowers, while the reverse is full of animals. And although the mintage of 500,000 might seem high, more than half of the mintage was melted in 1963 so these are not often available. KM#126.
