Roman AR Denarius!
This silver Denarius was struck during the reign of Severus Alexander (222 - 235 AD), 26th Emperor of the Roman Empire. This denomination was heavily used in the empire, as the daily wage for most workers and soldiers was 1 denarii. In the Roman currency system it took 25 silver denarii to equal 1 gold aureus.
