The history of 1/10 oz American Gold Eagles

Collect 1/10 oz American Gold Eagles if you appreciate beautiful Gold coins based on the artwork of Augustus Saint-Gaudens. While the Gold Eagle coins’ Lady Liberty design was first on the $20 Gold Double Eagle, Saint-Gaudens is also known for creating many Civil War monuments in the United States. His influence on U.S. Mint coins can be seen in the coin design work of his student, Adolph A. Weinman, who created the 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar.

Very nice

This was the first 1/10oz size I have bought. I recieved a 2015. Amazing starting size for anyone on a limited income. This is a VERY small coin, even smaller than a dime. However it is worth the investment. I will be picking another one up in the not to distant future.

Pros

  • Collectible (lower mintage)
  • Easy to Sell
  • Mint Condition
  • Recognized Brand

Great way to invest a little each payday

By  Nutoogold

Since purchasing a 1 oz is quite expensive, I've enjoyed purchasing the 1/10 oz. One each payday allows me to accumulate enough to go to my local coin store and trade up to the 1 oz. Store owner is happy as he is getting more product that can be easily sold.

Pros

  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Attractive Design
  • Collectible (lower mintage)
  • Easy to Sell
  • Recognized Brand

A great way to buy Gold!

By  EWB

Beautiful, US Government minted gold coins, slightly smaller than a dime. Cost per coin is comparable to that of a roll of 90% silver quarters or half dollars. Fast and secure shipping, excellent quality.

Pros

  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Attractive Design
  • Mint Condition
  • Recognized Brand

Good way to start in gold

By  John

I have ordered these on multiple occasions and each time end up with a 2016 coin. Not that i am complaining as I am not looking for anything specific. I love these little coins. Slightly smaller than a standard US Dime, but the details are still there. Great quality and good value. Price over spot slightly higher than others, but not much and worth the added of value of the US mint. APMEX has delivered nothing but MS69-70 range coins (my opinion, not professional grading) each order of them.

Pros

  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Attractive Design
  • Collectible (lower mintage)
  • Easy to Sell
  • Mint Condition

A Gold Buy!

By  Matt Cunningham

from San Diego, CA

Lower price point allows you to own gold with the prices being so high these days. The brilliance of this product is great and the detail in the relief is extraordinary. The size of it is a bit underwhelming - you'd have to view it through a magnifying glass to fully appreciate it. Just imagine a dime, but instead of the copper/nickel alloy, it's gold!

Pros

  • Attractive Design
  • Collectible (lower mintage)
  • Easy to Sell
  • Mint Condition

If you are just starting on your path to collecting gold bullion on a budget, 1/10 oz coins are a great way to begin! Attractive, hefty for size and just holding that gold in your hand sends a feeling of accomplishment and pride. Very secure packaging. Will be back for many more of these. What a rush!

Pros

  • Attractive Design
  • Easy to Sell
  • Recognized Brand

1/10 oz American Gold Eagles have more in common with vintage English Gold coins than you know.

1/10 oz Gold Eagles are part of the series of American Gold Eagle coins that first went into production in 1986. American Eagle Gold coins represent the U.S. Mint’s return to producing Gold coins, with these featuring a higher Gold content than the Gold coins minted between 1795 and 1933. These Gold American Eagle coins contain “crown Gold,” which was first introduced by Henry VII in England as the standard for Gold coins in 1526. Today’s American Gold Eagle coins are created with this alloy of .9167 fine Gold and Copper.
