Coin was not as described

I bought this coin to add to my pre-33 collection, but when it came it had black marks all across the forehead and the entire face. APMEX did refund my money, but I was very dissapointed. I would rather have the coin in the grade I paid for. Now if I want to buy it it's now an extra $20 per coin with lower gold prices. They know what they are sending out. They double check the order before shipping. Plus they have a picture of the coin on file. I feel they tried in this case to see if they shipped it that it would stick, and they could get rid of a lesser coin. I have never had a problem with them before,so I'm not sure why it started now.

1913 $10 Indian Gold Eagle AU

By  Richie Rich

from Sacramento, Ca

4.0

My coin and order was for a 1913. It is a very nice coin. I know I can buy coins like this once in awhile and I will have no urge to sell them, and they have a nice piece of history to them. Mine came with a small dent in the brim of the coin, but it is barely noticeable. I plan to keep this a very long time, so I am not too worried about immediate re-sale value.

Pros

  • Recognized Brand
  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Attractive Design

An Excellent 1907 Indian $10 Coin

By  No Nickname

from Northern IL

5.0

I bought this "first in it's series" 1907 $10 Indian for a Grandson, born exactly 100 years later in 2007. Since this was a "cleaned" coin it sold for well less than a natural aged one that collectors seek and was not a lot over spot. My grandson will just be pleased that it's "shiney". It is in nearly uncirculated state, date and headress "Liberty" virtually unworn. It's interesting that the edge of the coin is stamped with stars, one for each state in 1907. It also is the only year (the first year of series) that the motto "In God We Trust" was not on the coin. There was such an outcry from the citizens that it was added the next year and thereafter.

Pros

  • Recognized Brand
  • Value (low premium over spot)
  • Attractive Design
