These genuine ancient Roman coins from the third and fourth centuries AD come in a custom made hardwood case. Each coin is protected in an archival capsule and features a different Roman Emperor. The obverse side of the coin shows the portrait of the Emperor at the time the coins were minted. Most of the reverse sides have a military theme. In the third and forth century the Roman Empire reached from Britian to Persia and required a large military for it's defence.
The coins were struck in vast quantites for circulation throughout the Empire. They were hand struck, made with two dies and a heavy hammer, resulting in not all coins being perfectly round or having an even strike. This set comes with a plaque listing the Emperors and dates of their reign and a certificate of authenticty.
